Orioles fans have long been spoiled with an exceptional broadcast team. During the 2010's, we got to experience Gary Thorne and all he brought to the table. Hall of Famer Jim Palmer is a great listen as well, and the rest of the group in Baltimore brings a unique and riveting style to the ballpark every night.
Even when the team was mired in mediocrity in the early 2000's, it was still fun to tune into an Orioles game and listen to the broadcast team work. And now that the team is competitive again, it makes it all the more fun to have a great group of announcers and analysts to take us through the games every night.
So who are the Orioles play-by-play announcers and color analysts in 2025? And whose voice will we hear on WBAL when we tune in? Let's take a quick run through everyone we'll see and hear on Orioles broadcasts this year.
Who are the Orioles' TV and radio announcers in 2025?
Kevin Brown - TV Play-By-Play Announcer
Kevin Brown has been the Orioles' primary TV play-by-play guy since 2022. He worked alongside Scott Garceau during the two years prior, but Brown is set to lead the broadcast for 130 of the team's 162 games this summer.
Geoff Arnold - Radio Play-By-Play Announcer
Geoff Arnold has been with the Orioles as the primary radio voice since 2020. He won the 2023 Maryland Broadcaster of the Year award and has done an exceptional job handling both the radio and television roles since joining the O's broadcast team.
Jim Palmer - TV Color Commentary
An Orioles' Hall of Famer, Jim Palmer has been part of the O's television broadcast team going back to the early 1980's. He actually worked as a part-time commentator while he was still a player with the Orioles. He's worked as a part-time color commentator and served alongside numerous play-by-play announcers during that stretch. He's long been a fan favorite and many O's fans cherish the moments we get with him on the air.
Ben McDonald - TV Color Commentary
A former major league pitcher himself, Ben McDonald has been with the Orioles broadcast team since 2018. He primarily works as a color commentator for the television side, but also fills in as a studio analyst for pre-game and post-game network shows.
Scott Garceau, Brett Hollander, Melanie Newman, Ben Wagner - Fill-in TV Play-By-Play Announcers / Radio Color Commentary
This group will handle the play-by-play duties during the 22 games when Brown is not in charge. Melanie Newman also works as a sideline reporter and as a studio host, while Brett Hollander will occasionally handle studio duties as well. Scott Garceau has been in the part-time play-by-play role since 2020. Everyone in this group also works alongside Geoff Arnold on the radio broadcasts, as well.
Rob Long - Sideline Reporter / Studio Host
Rob Long has been with the Orioles since 2019, working as both a studio host and as a sideline reporter. Long also hosts the Sports Talk radio show on The Fan, as well as O's Xtra on MASN.
