Orioles 2024 MLB Draft guide: How to watch, schedule & draft order

The 2024 MLB Draft begins Sunday evening. Here's the info you need to know ahead of time.

The 2024 MLB Draft kicks off Sunday night, just prior to the All Star festivities down in Arlington, Texas. While the Orioles won't have the opportunity to select at the top of the draft this year, fans will absolutely take that trade off, as the on-field success is a lot more entertaining to watch.

With the event upon us, here's what you need to know heading into Sunday night.

When is the 2024 MLB Draft?

The draft will take place over a three day stretch, starting on Sunday night, 7/14. The first round will get underway at 7pm EST, with the teams scheduled to get through the first two rounds, including the Prospect Incentive Picks, Competitive Balance rounds, and compensatory rounds, on Sunday night.

They'll pick back up on Monday afternoon at 2pm EST, drafting throughout the remainder of the day. The teams will get through rounds 3-10 on Monday. Then on Tuesday, they'll get to rounds 11-20, again starting at 2pm EST.

How can I watch/stream the 2024 MLB Draft?

The first round of the draft, starting at 7pm EST on Sunday 7/14, will be broadcast on both ESPN and MLB Network. The first round of the draft will also be available to stream on the ESPN app, as well as ESPN+.

The comp picks and the second round of the draft, which continue on Sunday evening, will be broadcast on MLB Network, with a simulcast stream available on MLB.com.

Rounds 3-10, beginning at 2pm EST on Monday 7/15, will be available to stream on MLB.com. Likewise, rounds 11-20, beginning at 2pm on Tuesday 7/16, will be available to stream on MLB.com.

Where do the Orioles pick in the 2024 MLB Draft?

The Orioles will have 3 picks on Sunday night. They have the 22nd pick in the first round, followed by the 32nd overall pick thanks to the Prospect Promotion Incentive pick as a result of Gunnar Henderson's 2023 Rookie of the Year award.

The Orioles' second round pick will come at 61st overall. They'll then select 97th, 127th, and 160th as the league works through the first 5 rounds of the draft. The Orioles will then have the 24th pick in each of rounds 6 through 20.
