On Tuesday afternoon MLB Pipeline released their updated top-100 prospects list, and Orioles fans again have reason to be excited about the future. The Birds had 3 players on the list, all 3 of which appeared in the top 11 overall.

The Orioles’ have had the #1 overall prospect for 3 years in a row now, with Jackson Holliday still being ranked the #1 prospect in baseball. Here are those 3 players in the top-100 for the Orioles, and how they’re doing so far this year.

Second baseman Jackson Holliday is on fire in his return to Baltimore

Man oh man, what a turnaround we've seen from Jackson Holliday since he was recalled on July 31. While he has cooled back off from the stellar restart we saw once he came back from Norfolk, he is still batting .250 (11 for 44) since being recalled, with 5 home runs and 12 RBI’s.

Still only 20 years old, Holliday is showing that he deserves to be the #1 overall prospect, and is giving Orioles’ fans a lot to be excited for.

Coby Mayo tore up Triple-A and earned a promotion to the big leagues

Landing at number 10 overall, Coby Mayo was called up on August 2 from the Triple-A Tides and while he hasn’t shown much success at the major league level yet (1/17, 3 BB’s, 10 K’s), he was having a monster season at Norfolk, batting .301 with 20 HR’s and 61 RBI’s in only 77 games played.

Mayo has shown that he doesn’t need more time in the minors - he needs to be facing major league pitching to continue his development.

Samuel Basallo is creeping closer to his major league debut

Coming in at number 11 overall and back to back on Pipeline's list with Mayo, Samuel Basallo is having a great season at Double-A Bowie. He is currently batting .283 with 15 HR’s and 47 RBI’s while playing in 93 games.

The thing with those numbers is that Basallo just turned 20 on August 13, and he is more than likely going to be promoted to Triple-A before the season is over. Per MLB Pipeline, Basallo has an ETA of 2025 in terms of being promoted to the majors.

While the Orioles’ don’t have any other prospects in the Top-100 outside of these three, don’t be too surprised if we start seeing some names creep onto the leaderboard starting in 2025. Enrique Bradfield Jr. was just promoted to Bowie, and he has a good chance to be the next O's prospect to earn a spot in the top-100.
