The Baltimore Orioles are breaking out of their shell this season, now with the third best record in baseball. Along with the team’s success, players are shining too, and their statistics are showing that. Here is a list of the top 10 career milestones the Orioles are approaching at this point in the season.

Several individual milestones are approaching for some members of the Orioles

1. Adam Frazier 800 Hits

One hit is all veteran Adam Frazier needs to reach the 800-mark. Signed as a free agent this offseason, the 31-year-old has been around the league, playing with four teams across eight seasons. The bulk of his career hits came during his first six seasons in Pittsburgh where he tallied 571 hits.

2. Kyle Gibson 100 Wins

Like Frazier, starting pitcher Kyle Gibson has played his fair share of baseball. The right-hander has pitched 11 seasons with four separate clubs and is now just three wins away from 100. Gibson is 8-3 this season with the Birds and recorded his season-high in wins with 13 in 2014 and 2019 with the Twins.

3. Anthony Santander 100 Home Runs

Outfielder Anthony Santander needs to crush eight more long balls to reach the 100-mark. In 2023, the 28-year-old has launched nine home runs, averaging almost one per week. Last season, Santander set his season-high mark with 33 and is beginning to solidify himself as one of the most powerful hitters in franchise history.

4. Cedric Mullins 500 Hits

Along with stealing bases and making incredible catches, Cedric Mullins has been a hitting machine with the Orioles the last few seasons. The centerfielder is now just 33 hits away from 500. Prior to his injury, Mullins had recorded 51 hits this season, and once resuming play, should be well on pace to pass this mark by the end of the season. During his All-Star season in 2021, he recorded 175 hits.

5. Kyle Gibson 1,300 Strikeouts

Gibson needs 40 punch outs to reach 1,300. No other pitcher on the Orioles is anywhere near the 35-year-old in terms of strikeouts with Mychal Givens being the next closest with 539. Gibson recorded 845 strikeouts while in Minnesota for seven seasons.

6. Adam Frazier 3,000 At Bats

At this point in his career, Frazier has many milestones on the horizon. The infielder is also approaching the 3,000 at bats mark, a tally he is 42 away from. The next closest Oriole to 3,000 at bats is Aaron Hicks who currently sits at 2,907.

7. Austin Hays 400 Hits

Austin Hays has been swinging the bat incredibly well this season, and is just eight base knocks away from 400. Thanks to strong health, the outfielder leads the Orioles in hits and batting average. Hays has recorded more than 120 hits each of the past two seasons and is coming off a season-high 134 in 2022.

8. Adam Frazier 300 RBI

Frazier needs just 15 more RBI to reach the 300-mark. So far in 2023, Frazier has collected 28, so he should pass this mark by mid-end July at the latest. As a Pirate in 2017, Frazier recorded his season-high RBI total with 53.

9. Ryan Mountcastle 400 Hits

Throughout his professional career, Ryan Mountcastle has always had a nice track record for hitting. The first baseman is 28 base knocks away from reaching 400, and it’s just his fourth season in the big leagues. Mountcastle recorded a season-high 139 hits last season, second on the team to Cedric Mullins, and is on pace to break the 400-mark during the next few months.

10. Anthony Santander 300 RBI

Just like Frazier, Santander is also approaching the 300 career RBI mark. Santander needs 26 more and it will be an interesting race to see who passes the mark first. Along with his season-high home run total last year, Santander also set his season-high RBI tally with 89 in 2022.
