In 2023, Kyle Bradish was an excellent starter for the Orioles and was fantastic in the early months of 2024 until he suffered an injury to his UCL forcing him to go under the knife. Bradish had Tommy John surgery in June of last year and missed the entire second half. Throughout the offseason, the message has been strong that Bradish would be returning to the mound in the back half of 2025.

Bradish has been working through his rehab process and throwing program, and has been in Sarasota since before the start of spring training. So far, there have been no setbacks and the righty is "checking all the boxes" according to manager Brandon Hyde.

Bradish has since revealed that he was pitching through elbow discomfort in late 2023 and through the early months of 2024. There was no regret from Bradish for waiting to get surgery, Bradish stated "I think that if I would have gotten the surgery in January, there kind of would have been a little regret and questioning if maybe I didn't have to get surgery."

In 2023, Bradish posted a 12-7 record with a 2.83 ERA over 30 starts. This line was good enough to land Bradish fourth in the AL Cy Young voting in just his second major league season. This is made even more impressive since receiving the news that Bradish was dealing with the early phases of the injury he suffered in 2024.

Bradish's 2024 started with an elbow injury landing him on the injured list for the first couple of weeks. Bradish would then return to start 8 games for the Orioles before being sidelined for the remainder of the season in June. In those 8 starts, Bradish would have a 2.75 ERA and earn two wins.

Bradish's return is anticipated and wanted for the Baltimore faithful as he will bring the cavalry during the final push of the regular season. In a competitive race for the American League East this season a strong performance from the starting pitchers will be a key for the Orioles to get over the hump and reclaim the AL East.

Orioles GM Mike Elias spoke on the right-hander's recovery, stating "It's definitely the second half. That's my expectation at this point." Elias seems to be confident that Bradish will be returning in 2025 and barring any setbacks it sounds like Bradish is as well. Looking to regain the form that he had in 2023 and early 2024 will be the key to Bradish's success after his return to the major league club.
