Opening Day is finally here. We'll have to hope that it gets off to a hot start, like the Orioles did in 2024. Last year, the O's came out of the gate with an 11-3 victory over the Angels and took the following game by a score of 13-4, as well.
The Orioles will be without star shortstop Gunnar Henderson, who's starting the year on the IL thanks to an intercostal strain, as well as the recently departed Anthony Santander. However, that doesn't mean the guys left in Baltimore aren't up to the challenge.
There are still a couple unanswered questions heading into the season, but the O's will have to finalize their roster by 12pm EST today. We'll find out which of Bryan Baker, Matt Bowman, or Roansy Contreras will grab the final bullpen spot, and whether Jorge Mateo is healthy enough to join the Orioles in Toronto.
How to watch Orioles vs. Blue Jays battle on MLB Opening Day 2025
- First pitch: 3:07pm EST
- Television broadcast: MASN 2 (Orioles), Sportsnet & TVA Sports (Blue Jays)
- Streaming options: MLB TV (Subscription required), Fubo TV (Subscription required), DIRECTV STREAM (Subscription required), MASNsports.com (Subscription required)
- Radio broadcast: 98 Rock 97.9 FM, WBAL 1090 AM (Orioles), SN 590 & SN APP (Blue Jays)
The first game of the year is on MASN 2. It's an interesting choice by the O's network, which is notorious for it's brutal broadcast schedule. They only televised a handful of games this spring, and have done the same in recent years. In fact, three of the four games this weekend will be broadcast on MASN 2, while Friday's matchup is an Apple TV + exclusive broadcast.
Today's game will be available on MLB.tv for those who are outside of the MASN distribution network. There's an annual fee for the service but the majority of Orioles games will be available through MLB.tv in 2025. Fans with a T-Mobile subscription can access MLB.tv as part of their phone plan. Visit this link here and you can claim your access through April 1. Fans will also be able to follow along on the radio broadcast, as normal.
