Orioles select RP Andrew Politi in Rule 5 Draft
You didn’t think the Rule 5 Draft was going to pass without the Orioles taking someone, did you? Fool you, like, 12 times.
This year the pick was relief pitcher Andrew Politi from the Boston Red Sox AAA affiliate. The 26 year old had a sub-3 ERA between AA and AAA last season and like most Mike Elias pitching acquisitions, had more strikeouts than innings pitched.

Buyer Beware
Mike Elias appears to be in search of at least one more starting pitcher to fill out the 2023 rotation, and there are several talented arms still available.
