The Baltimore Orioles have an enormously packed Farm Club. From there comes Gunnar Henderson, and he will be representing the O’s at the All-Star Future’s Game!

The MLB has announced both the American League and National League rosters for the 2022 Futures Game. That game will take place July 16th at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. With this announcement comes the addition of the Baltimore Orioles star infielder.

Henderson has been lights out for the O’s minor leagues this season; honestly better than projected. The 21-year-old has played a total of 72 games for the Baltimore Orioles Farm System this season and has turned some serious heads.

Since his promotion to the Norfolk Tides, Henderson has hit .274, with five home runs and 16 RBIs. The rest of his stat line looks like this: .386/.505/.891and he has done all this in just 25 games with the Triple-A club.

His worst years defensively are behind him, as he is currently boasting a .961 fielding percentage and has been eclectic wherever the Baltimore Orioles Minor League coaches have placed him. The once 2nd round draft pick has slowly become a 5-star prospect, and he’s only just turned 21!

Gunnar was recently placed in the top-5 of MLB Pipelines Top-100 prospects, just one spot behind his Baltimore Orioles counterpart, Grayson Rodriguez. Gunnar will fill the AL infield roster with three other AL East prospects as well as three other AL Central prospects. The only question now is whether he will start or not.

The only surprise with this announcement is that no other member of the Baltimore Orioles made the list. However, we aren’t looking to take away from Gunnar’s success in this article. Congratulations, lad! We are all rooting for you! Oh, and expect to see him up with the Big Club hopefully soon!
