The Baltimore Orioles have stayed stagnate in this weeks MLB Power Rankings. After a dismal start to the week, the O’s finished strong while adding hope.

In last weeks rankings, the Baltimore Orioles turned up at No.24. The Orioles hitters are finally started beefing up their stats, with Ryan Mountcastle and Austin Hays leading the charge. Ceddy had a lot to say with the previous Power Rankings, and that’s how they ended up where they did last time out. From the start of last week, however, things started looking drastically worse.

Mounty and Hays were shipped to rest duties to heal up, and that left a huge hole in the Baltimore Orioles offense. That absence lead to other players like Rougned Odor and and Jorge Mateo the chance to step up offensively when it mattered most.

At the beginning part of the week, the O’s looked to be plunging quickly into the Power Rankings abyss after failing to win either of their first three games against the Yankees, but oh how the baseball gods will look after one another. For everyway that the homerun misfortunes were going for the O’s, it quickly pulled a 180 and turned back in their favor.

For what is was worth, Anthony Santander had a great series against the Bronx Bombers, even with the O’s struggles. That patience and persistence paid off on Thursday night, with Tony Taters smacked a walk-off 3-run jack to leave the home fans happy. We all know, of course, how the next night went, as the aforementioned Odor stepped up in a big way with a walk-off homer of his own.

If you’re keeping track, that left the Baltimore Orioles sitting with a 2-3 record through the week. The only huge hiccup from there, was failing to win the Rutschamania game with Adley Rutschman making his debut, and Mountcastle coming back from the injured list. Sunday afternoon felt like a failed day from the word go, but oh how things changed.

With 9th inning heroics, extra inning explosions from mound, and a seeing-eye single to close the deal, the O’s finished the week 3-4. Not bad, considering who they were playing. We at Birds Watcher openly and honestly slandered the MLB Power Rankings last time out,

but not for where the Orioles were, just who was ahead of them.

Next. The Baltimore Orioles have a flair for the dramatic endings. dark

Even though the Birds are staying at 24th in the rankings, you’ll have no complaints from us. What started at a rough week, turned into Orioles Magic as the weekend concluded and making it a week to remember. Remember, at this point in the Mike Elias rebuild, minor victories are what to look for, and the O’s have held strong this week.
