One bold Baltimore Orioles’ prediction for the remainder of 2019.

Aaron: I’m going to try to stay positive with a bold prediction for the remainder of the season. I’ll stick with my guy Renato Nunez and say he finishes 2019 with 45 home runs. He has the power to hit a home run every time he steps to the plate, and I could see him going on a major home run tear with the ball flying out of ballparks in the summer months.

Nick: I made five “bold” predictions before the 2019 season and whiffed on all of them, already. I’m hesitant to jump back on the horse and make a prediction here, but here goes nothing. I want to say Hunter Harvey ends the season in the major league rotation, but he’s getting hit hard down in Bowie, very hard. His starts are tough to watch. I’m going to say Austin Hays ends the year as the regular starting center fielder for the Baltimore Orioles. Sorry, Broxton. Just as DJ Stewart and Chance Sisco have done, Hays will force the hand of the Orioles, who will have no choice but to bring the outfielder back up to the majors.

Jesse: I think DJ Stewart will explode for the remainder of 2019 and at least be in the conversation for Rookie of the Year. I think he has been ready to do damage in the majors since last season and his success from AAA this year will translate into success in Baltimore.

Chuck: My bold prediction for the rest of the season is that the Orioles now will be the Orioles in September, except possibly without Mancini. They will not be able to trade any of the veterans and Mountcastle and Hays will finish out the season in the minors.  The big changes will come at the end of the season when the 40-man needs to be set prior to the Rule 5 Draft.  Basically, what you see now is what you’ll get the rest of the season.
