In a stunning move that was just announced by The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, the Baltimore Orioles are planning on parting ways with Dan Duquette

What can we say about the last couple of days for the Baltimore Orioles organization? Different is one word that comes to mind already. It’s going to be very different in 2019 without the likes of Adam Jones, Buck Showalter, and now Dan Duquette.

It seemed like he was slated to be the only one to get an extension with the team, but things have changed. Maybe the Angelos brothers had some issues with the way Duquette handled things during his tenure as General Manager.

Sure, he made some good moves, but he also failed with some as well. That’s not good enough and I think the Angelos family wants someone who will be good at starting from scratch and being part of a rebuild.

One thing that Dan Duquette lacked in his time with the Orioles was participation in the international market and up until this season, he didn’t really seem to care.

Trading away international slot money proved to be a mistake. Look at all the good talent that the Orioles have missed out on.

Don’t get me wrong, Duquette wasn’t that bad of a GM, but he could’ve done better.

I’m still thinking he was bitter at Peter Angelos for not letting him pursue the Toronto Blue Jays President of Baseball Operations position and was holding it against the team.

Who knows who the Orioles will get as the next General Manager. Could it be Brady Anderson?

You could see him having an impact on signing Andrew Cashner last offseason.

We should all thank Dan Duquette for all the roster moves he made and for bringing in some talent to get to the Baltimore Orioles to the playoffs.
