The 2018 Baltimore Orioles season is coming to end on Sunday and it’ll most likely be Adam Jones’s final game in Baltimore. He’ll go down as one of the most popular athletes in Baltimore History

When Andy McPhail pulled off one of the biggest trades in Baltimore Orioles history, the Orioles got back a player in Adam Jones that would elevate the Orioles for the next 10-years. His impact on and off the field has made him one of the greats to wear an Oriole uniform.

Jones has always been outspoken and played the game the right way. His love for the game showed day in and day out.

You know he was having fun on the field and knew that he wanted to win whenever he stepped on the field. His motto was to #stayhungry.

He was Mr. Pie, as in the guy that would smash a pie in your face after a game winning hit. It’s what made him a true fan favorite.

He was a leader in the clubhouse and in the community with his various charities. One of his most popular events is his Stay Hungry Purple Tailgate prior to a Baltimore Ravens football game.

Have we mentioned that Jones loves food?

In his time with the Orioles, Jones has a total of 263 home-runs, 863 RBI, with a batting average of 279.

It would be nice to see him return to Baltimore so he can get to that elusive 300 homer club, but that likely won’t happen.

Let’s hope all Baltimore Oriole fans show up on Sunday afternoon and give him a standing ovation for all that he’s done for Baltimore.

Next. Should the Orioles re-sign Dan Duquette?. dark

I’m sure I won’t be the only one rooting for Jones when he’s with another team and here’s to Mr. Jones for hopefully getting a statue of his own with the other legends past the bullpen.

Stay Hungry, Mr. Jones, Stay Hungry.
