Fresh off a home series win, the Baltimore Orioles will try to keep a good thing going on the West Coast.

Welcome back to Baltimore Orioles Daily, where we recap the team’s latest exploits and round up the biggest headlines from the last 24 hours.

After taking two out of three games from the Detroit Tigers over the weekend, the Birds have a bit of momentum as they head into their next series, a road showdown with the Los Angeles Angels. The Halos spent big over the offseason, surrounding Mike Trout with one of the league’s more intriguing rosters, but they’ve also dropped 9 of their last 12 games.

Tyler Skaggs is the only Angels starter with an ERA below 4.40, and he’s not expected to pitch against the Orioles. It’s a great sign for the Baltimore offense, which has averaged five runs a game dating back to last Wednesday. Keep it here at Birds Watcher for our full series preview later today.

Until then, here’s what you may have missed:

Mark Trumbo is set to return on Tuesday — here’s what to expect from the Orioles’ slugging DH: After missing the first few weeks of the season with a quadriceps strain, Trumbo will be activated from the DL in time for the Angels series. He should inject some life into the offense, but be warned: he’s not the same player he was in 2016.
