While Baltimore Orioles fans are waiting to see what Dan Duquette will do with the team, they can check out the charity auctions that are available during the Winter Meetings.

All MLB teams, including the Baltimore Orioles, have some amazing opportunities available for fan experiences during spring training and the regular season.

Most of the auctions are set up to benefit the Katharine Feeney Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Details about the charity

The scholarship is named for Ms. Feeney, who was a long-time MLB executive who passed away last April. According to an article from Mark Gonzalez with the Chicago Tribune:

"Funds will go toward an annual scholarship awarded to a female student at the University of San Francisco who most exemplifies Katy’s character. Candidates must be students who are pursuing a career in sports management and demonstrate a financial need to earn an advanced degree."

The auctions began at the opening of the Winter Meetings and they will close at the end on Thursday, December 14 at 10 PM EST.

Auction #1

BALTIMORE, MD – JUNE 02: Jonathan Schoop

The Orioles are offering three auctions for fans. One of the auctions is for a pre-game chess match against one of the Orioles. Several Orioles, including Manny Machado, Jonathan Schoop, Dylan Bundy, and Kevin Gausman are tough to beat. The winner of the auction will get to play against one of these men before a 2018 regular season or spring training game.

The auction includes two tickets, a parking pass, and on-field passes during batting practice. Find more details about this auction here. While anyone can bid on the auction, those with knowledge of chess will certainly have more fun playing one of these incredibly competitive athletes.

Auction #2

The second auction involves another experience, but this one gets fans behind the scenes at Camden Yards on game day. This experience offers four tickets to the winner. There are several options that the winner and friends could do that include being on the field for batting practice, watching a game with Dan Duquette in his suite, or sitting in on television or radio booths.

A parking pass is also included for the winner’s convenience. This experience would give the winner and friends a unique view of what happens off the field. The auction can be found here.

Auction #3

The final auction will give the winner a truly unique piece of memorabilia. It turns out that Caleb Joseph enjoys painting and the auction winner will get to paint with the veteran catcher in a pre-game session at Camden Yards or Ed Smith Stadium.

The winner will also get a pair of tickets, on-field passes for batting practice, and a parking pass. Joseph is considered the “resident artist” in the clubhouse. But, the winner of the auction does not need to have any artistic experience. Information about this auction can be found here.
