The Baltimore Orioles have made their first signing of the Hot Stove Season. However, the signing might not make an immediate impact to the 25-man roster.

The Baltimore Orioles announced on Monday evening they had signed OF/INF David Washington to a minor league contract. Washington will start the season in Triple-A Norfolk.

Washington split his time between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis, hitting .259/.359/.532 with 30 homers and 77 RBI.

Washington was drafted in the 15th round by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2009 MLB Draft. If Washington hits well enough in Triple-A next season, he could be an option for the Orioles at the Major League level at some point during the 2017 campaign.
