The Baltimore Orioles remain in holiday mode on the day after Christmas.

What can really be said about the Baltimore Orioles bright and early on the day after Christmas? For what it’s worth, today is traditionally celebrated in Canada as Boxing Day, so if you celebrate that holiday make it a good one this year! Meanwhile, many fans back here in Baltimore are still wondering which players and at which positions will come in a box for them under the tree.

But again, don’t expect that to be rectified anytime in the near future. The warehouse is closed for the holidays for the time being. The need for a pitcher and a slugger will still be there when it re-opens – trust me.

In the mean time, the Orioles’ team store now prepares to get hit with a flurry of action, as presumably merchandise will be exchanged, returned, and even bought in the coming days and perhaps weeks. A lot of folks were critical of the decision to host FanFest in December, however if you think about it in full it’s kind of a no-brainer. How many folks did Christmas shopping at that time?!

While there’s the potential for a signing or two which will keep things interesting, in my view that month is the nadir of the off season each year. But time will tell.
