The 2025 MLB season is just around the corner. Spring training is past the half way point and rosters are coming together. One of the most fun parts of this time of year is trying to predict the unpredictable.

Each year, the baseball experts do their best to forecast awards and statistics, and each year surprises throw all of those predictions to the wind. That being said, I will take my turn looking into the crystal ball to see which players will lead the Orioles in each of the major offensive categories.

Last season Gunnar Henderson led the team in hits, doubles, triples, runs, walks and all three slash categories while placing second in home runs, RBI’s and steals. With the loss of Anthony Santander to free agency and Henderson’s continued growth as a player, it would be easy to pick him for each of those categories this season, but that wouldn’t be much fun.

Here's who will lead the Orioles offense in 2025

Hits: Henderson (186)
Doubles: Jordan Westburg (33)
Triples: Jackson Holliday (8)
Home runs: Henderson (39)
RBI: Henderson (106)
AVG: Henderson (.284)
Runs: Henderson (114)
Steals: Holliday (31)

As the Orioles’ best player, Henderson’s name will again appear at or near the top in every offensive category. Jackson Holliday and Jordan Westburg will prevent Henderson from making it a clean sweep.

Holliday beefed up over the offseason and the extra muscle will pay off. Expect to see him driving balls to the gaps with a line drive approach and taking the extra base when he can. Holliday’s speed and aggressiveness will also help him be the first person not named Cedric Mullins or Jorge Mateo to lead the team in steals since 2019. Mullins is still the best base stealer on the team but the possibility of him forming a true platoon in center field with Ramon Laureano lowers his ceiling.

Triples is a toss up but I gave the nod to Holliday. Mateo is still the fastest player on the team but his reduced role with keep his numbers down. The next three fastest are Holliday, Henderson and Westburg. All three are smart, aggressive base runners that will take the extra 90 feet if they can, Holliday is just the name that appeared in the crystal ball.
