Everything seems to be coming up roses for the Baltimore Orioles right now. Their roster is loaded with young talent, they have new owners that have been a big hit with fans, and they have even more help coming from the minors very, very soon. Coming off an AL East title in 2023, you will struggle to find a team that has better vibes around them than what the Orioles have right now.

However, good vibes can only take you so far. Fans have seen really good teams coming off strong seasons come out flat plenty of times. No one would have held it against the Orioles TOO much if they had needed a few games to get their feet under them this season.

Instead, the Orioles have absolutely demolished the Angels through the season's first two games and they have made it clear that the road to the World Series goes through Baltimore these days.

Orioles' opening weekend domination should have the rest of the AL very afraid

It is important to remember that this is just a small sample of games and the offense isn't going to score 10-plus runs EVERY night. The Angels are not a very good baseball team and their pitching staff is particularly gross. Good teams are supposed to beat bad teams most of the time and the Orioles have certainly held up their end of the bargain.

However, it's how the Orioles have done it that should have everyone in the league's attention. Corbin Burnes looked almost untouchable on Opening Day and Grayson Rodriguez was nearly as good on Saturday. The Orioles' lineup has been lights out top to bottom which begs the question of how good they could be once Jackson Holliday, Coby Mayo, and others get called up. The bullpen is a little concerning to be sure, but the team's results have been better than anyone could have hoped.

The Orioles will have some competition in the American League to be sure. The Texas Rangers have looked great to start the season while the New York Yankees have won three straight against the Houston Astros. Those three teams will almost certainly hang around near the top of the AL all season long. However, Baltimore has put the league on notice that they remain among the league's elite teams and we haven't seen them at their best yet.
