September, 28th. Twelve years ago, it was 'The Curse of Andino'. In 2023, it was a day that every O's fan in the world will remember for ages to come. It was more than a win to clinch the Division Title after nine years, it was a sign for this next decade for Orioles baseball.

The Orioles beat the Red Sox on Thursday to win the AL East title

The game recap: Anthony Santander put the Orioles on the board with a solo Home Run, Dean Kremer was pretty solid, the bullpen sealed the door and an insurance run in the eighth inning was enough in a 2-0 win against the Boston Red Sox (the same rival in 2011).

The old and new was mixed here: Santander was a Rule 5 draft pick. Kremer one of the five prospects from the Manny Machado trade in 2018. Hall a first-round draft pick. All of them joined the Orioles during Dan Duquette's tenure as GM.

From the current regime: Cionel Perez (waiver claim), Yennier Cano (Jorge Lopez trade), Adam Frazier (free agency), Heston Kjerstad (first-round pick) and Tyler Wells (Rule 5 draft).

There are two distinct groups of players. The older players all saw the rise and fall from the last decade of Orioles baseball. A team who recovered this team and put in relevance again. After a painful rebuild, the new wave of prospects paving the way for the next generation of Black and Orange.

During the game, another great news was displayed on the big board: CEO John Angelos and Maryland Governor Wes Moore announced a new 30-year lease to keep the Orioles at Camden Yards. After months of uncertainty, this team will stay in Baltimore. We will see more and more of these guys performing in the Charm City.

The final score was a plus. All the celebration is deserved to everyone. Birdland suffered a lot in the basement of the majors. They now have their first AL East title since 2014 and the first 100-win season since 1980. For the BBWAA awards, they'll likely have the first Rookie of the Year since 1989 and Manager of the Year after nine years.

After the storm comes a calm. And that day has come. What a time to be alive, folks. Enjoy, Birdland. It's only the beginning.
