Orioles vs. Athletics prediction and odds for Saturday, Aug.19 (Baltimore's offense stays hot)
Baltimore's offense broke out of a slump on Friday, can the team keep it up?
The Orioles offense had cooled off heading into a weekend series in Oakland, but the team got back on track with a 9-4 win on Friday.
Baltimore will look to keep it rolling on Saturday against the lowly Athletics on Saturday and its starter Ken Waldichuk. Will the first place Orioles continue to find its stride at the plate?
Here are the odds:
Orioles vs. Athletics odds, run line and total
Orioles vs. Athletics prediction and pick
The Orioles offense took full advantage of Luis Medina, and I expect the same result against Waldichuk. The lefty has showcased poor control all season, walking more than five batters per nine innings and has been tagged by hard contact, allowing a home run to fly ball rate of 13% and a batting average of .340 on balls in play.
If Waldichuk struggles with his command again, this can be a short outing for the southpaw, putting plenty of pressure on the worst bullpen in the big leagues for an extended appearance.
Baltimore's offense is still rounding into form and this trip to Oakland is coming at the right time. Jump on the Orioles offense and ride its team total over for the second straight game.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
