Yesterday, the Baltimore Orioles received four runs batted in from their top two hitters in the lineup, Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson, to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-5 in the rubber match and get to an American League best record of 85-51.

Now, the O’s have a three game set with the 64-73 rudderless Los Angeles Angels.

For Game 1 the O’s will turn to their rookie, Grayson Rodriguez to make his 19th start of the year. Rodriguez is 4-3 with a 5.03 ERA and will be opposed by Kenny Rosenbeg who has made two starts this season and has a 6.43 ERA.

Orioles vs. Angels prediction and pick

The Angels screwed up just a bit by buying at the trade deadline and they’ve even waived multiple players to cut their losses financially.

This team just got swept by the Oakland Athletics over the weekend and that is absolute rock bottom for an MLB baseball team.

In August, they had the third worst record at 8-19 and so far are 0-3 in September. As a team, last month they posted a league worst 6.14 ERA which has gone up to 7.13 in their three games so far this month.

Kenny Rosenberg who is going for LA has seven strikeouts and seven walks in his seven innings this season. A 1/1 ratio isn't exactly what you’re going for as a pitcher and I'm not quite sure that's going to work out for him.

Over the past week, Anthony Santander has two homers and three doubles. He is solid against lefties this season, but not as good as Ryan Mountcastle who does only have three hits this week, but comes in with 12 home runs and a 1.087 OPS against lefties.

The Orioles offense will feast against a terrible LA pitching staff and Baltimore will cruise to a win on Labor Day.
