It's trading season in baseball. As the July 30 trade deadline gets closer, rumors are swirling about which teams the Orioles could make trades with as well as what players the Orioles might be acquiring.

With the best farm system in baseball, teams will be looking to take a chunk out of the Orioles' pipeline. The Orioles will have to be willing to part with some of their top prospects in order to get impact players they need to make a World Series run.

The biggest challenge for Mike Elias and the front office will be deciding which prospects they are willing to trade in order to land talent and which ones won't be available for anyone. Here are a few that should be on the trade block and one who shouldn't be.

2 Orioles prospects who should be on the trade block, and 1 who shouldn't

Samuel Basallo should be trade bait this year

Basallo, the Orioles number two prospect according to MLB Pipeline, should absolutely be in play for a trade with the deadline approaching. Yes, James McCann is struggling and is a free agent at the end of the season, but with Adley Rutschman deservedly in line for tons of playing time, it will be difficult for the Orioles to find suitable playing time for Basallo in the majors, both behind the plate and at first base thanks to the production of Ryan Mountcastle and Ryan O'Hearn.

As such, Basallo should be on the block. He's enjoying a very strong year with Double A Bowie, slashing .273/.334/.441 with 14 doubles, 12 home runs, and 39 RBIs in 78 games. Basallo would surely be a part of a package that could net the Orioles a starting pitcher in a few days.

Cade Povich could be included in a deadline deal

The Orioles are thin on top pitching prospects and while Povich is one, the Orioles should be dangling him to get a starting pitcher to fill one of their holes in the rotation. Povich had a shot to do that himself, but he was optioned to Triple A after noticeable struggles in his first taste of the major leagues.

While Povich has had issues limiting hard contact and with walking batters, he's not very far away from being a good major league pitcher. His 3.12 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 11.86 K/9 in 12 games for the Norfolk Tides this year also make him an intriguing option for teams looking to deal with the Orioles.

Coby Mayo should be untouchable at the trade deadline

Coby Mayo, who should be in the major leagues right now, is someone the Orioles would be wise to hold on to at the deadline. The Orioles number three prospect, Mayo is tearing up Triple A this year. Despite missing a few weeks with an injury, he has a .297/.376/.591 slash line with 18 doubles, 19 home runs, and 57 RBIs in 68 games with the Tides.

Whether the Tides lineup card is freaking us out or not, Mayo is someone the Orioles should take off the market, as he can be an important piece to the offense in the second half and could be a sparkplug they need down the stretch.
