Seeing is believing for Baltimore Orioles fans. The Orioles stole the show at the Winter Meetings, signing Pete Alonso to a 5-year deal worth $155 million. In an MLB landscape where deferrals and early opt-out clauses are becoming the trend, they aren't included in Alonso's deal. Alonso also has a limited no-trade clause, but the hope is that it never has to come into consideration.

The Orioles introduced Alonso on Friday, offering the first glimpse of the slugging first baseman putting on his new uniform.

While Alonso's departure from the Mets has left many wondering what exactly the plan is in New York, his arrival in Baltimore has the Orioles being the talk of baseball. Even if some of the reactions are obsessive, considering the season the Orioles just had, it's refreshing to see Jeff Passan offer this take.

Alonso's arrival has breathed life into an Orioles fanbase that seemed to be reaching its boiling point over the last year. The Orioles went from knocking on the door of being the top team in the American League East to an afterthought. Now, the Orioles are clearly pushing their chips to the middle of the table, and that is something Alonso wanted to be a part of.

"As the offseason progressed and we got further along, this partnership was head and shoulders above everybody else. This park, this city, this organization, everything just clicked," Alonso told reporters on Friday.

Pete Alonso's arrival has Baltimore Orioles fans feeling the vibes of their landing a big-ticket item.

Already adding Taylor Ward and Ryan Helsley this offseason, Alonso's signing inches the Orioles closer to having a massively successful offseason.

We're not at the finish line yet. The finishing touch on the offseason would be Mike Elias and Co. addressing their need for another starting pitcher. With Trevor Rogers and Kyle Bradish already at the top of the rotation, the Orioles don't need an ace, but adding a high-upside starting pitcher like Edward Cabrera would truly make this a job-saving effort from Elias.

For now, Alonso has arrived in Baltimore, and this weekend is a time to celebrate.
