With excitement building for a three-game set in Baltimore, the weather had other plans. Steady rain, gusty winds, and the threat of thunderstorms have forced the postponement of Tuesday night’s series opener between the Baltimore Orioles and the Minnesota Twins at Camden Yards.

With active weather alerts and rainfall totals expected to reach up to three inches in some parts of the area, the Orioles made the call to postpone Tuesday’s game due to unsafe playing conditions. Wind gusts up to 25 mph and over only added to the challenging weather environment, leaving little hope of getting the game in as scheduled.

Orioles vs. Twins Rainout, May 13: Full details, start time, pitching matchups

The Orioles have announced that the postponed game will be made up tomorrow, Wednesday, May 14, as part of a single-admission doubleheader beginning at 12:05 p.m. ET. The originally scheduled Wednesday night game, which was set for 6:35 p.m., has also been moved up due to more rain in the forecast for tomorrow evening.

Fans holding tickets for Wednesday’s May 14 game will now receive access to both games of the doubleheader, with Game 2 starting approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opener.

Those who held tickets for the May 13 game will not be permitted into either game of the May 14 doubleheader. Further information regarding how to exchange the tickets can be found on the Orioles' website.

Game one will feature a matchup of right-handers as Minnesota’s Bailey Ober (4-1, 3.50 ERA) takes on Baltimore’s Dean Kremer (3-4, 5.24 ERA).

While official starters for game two have yet to be confirmed, the expectation is that the two pitchers originally scheduled for tonight will square off in the nightcap. That would pit Minnesota’s Simeon Woods Richardson (2-2, 4.01 ERA) against Baltimore southpaw Cade Povich (1-3, 5.55 ERA).

With the unpredictable nature of the weather in Baltimore and surrounding areas, fans are encouraged to continue monitoring any additional schedule changes or weather-related updates as the series progresses.
