For all of the organization's faults, it is clear that the Baltimore Orioles are pretty adept at filling up their farm system with talented prospects. The jury is still out as to how well the team will turn that talent into quality players in the majors, but there is no denying that the Orioles are targeting the right raw material. In fact, their minor league system may be stronger than fans think.

Despite a wave of promotions over the last couple of years, including Jackson Holliday, there are still a number of higher-end faces on the Orioles' top 10 prospects list. Samuel Basallo is still technically a prospect, as is Dylan Beavers, though both players should be able to shed prospect status in 2026. While a polarizing prospect given his skill set, Enrique Bradfield Jr. is still lurking and is easily a top 10 prospect in the system as well.

However, Baseball America's recently revealed Orioles top 10 prospect list ($) shows something pretty remarkable. After a really strong 2025 draft class as well as a few surprise performers, the Orioles' farm system is loaded again with a wave of talent that could be in the big leagues sooner than fans think.

Again, Basallo and Beavers being 1-2 isn't surprising, nor is Bradfield Jr. being in the top 10, although the latter being all the way down to #9 is pretty wild. However, it is with the rest of the list that things start getting really interesting.

Immediately following the top two spots, you have RHP Trey Gibson and OF Nate George. Gibson was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and blasted his way through the minors all the way up to Triple-A this season. George is one of the prospects in all of baseball whose stock increased the most last season, as well, thanks to his prodigious tools playing up in games frequently.

After that, you have LHP Luis De Leon and RHP Esteban Mejia as more pitching talent that has crept into the top 10, as well as Ike Irish and Wehiwa Aloy from the 2025 MLB Draft crop of prospects. It sure doesn't hurt that most of Baltimore's top 10 are guys that are close to big league ready or were college draft picks that could move up quickly. Hell, with the way George is trending, he might become a can't-miss prospect and call-up candidate by the second half of 2026.

In short, the Orioles' farm system is in great shape, and they stand likely to get another massive influx of talent in 2026 once the MLB Draft Lottery is settled. It is on the front office and player development to get these guys ready to be big leaguers, but the early returns are that the Orioles' talent pipeline isn't slowing down anytime soon.
