Orioles Take 3rd game of Blue Jays Series (9/6/22)
The Orioles outlasted the Toronto Blue Jays in the tumultuous 3rd game of the series.
The Orioles survived a rain delay, multiple reviews, and benches-clearing yelling to take down the Blue Jays in the midst of the most important series of the year.

The man on the bump was Mitch White (1-5, 4.67 ERA, 67 Strikeouts).
The Blue Jays struck first in the 2nd inning with a Matt Chapman single to score Alejandro Kirk for Toronto to take an early 1-0 lead.
The bat of Bo Bichette stayed on fire as he hit a double that was reviewed and overturned into a 2-run home run (22) that soared 366 feet to make the lead 3-0 in the 3rd.
During the 3rd, Baltimore quickly struck back as Adley Rutschman hit a double to score Rougned Odor and Jorge Mateo to make it 3-2. Anthony Santander grounded out, but Cedric Mullins was able to score, and Rutschman moved to third. Ryan Mountcastle hit a single to score him from third.
Julian Merryweather (6.52 ERA) came in for Toronto. The Orioles finished out the scoring-filled inning with a Gunnar Henderson single to plate Mountcastle to finish the inning with a 5-3 lead.
Dillon Tate (2.64 ERA) made his second appearance before the 6th inning of the season to get the O’s out of a two-runners-on jam in the 4th.
Matt Chapman hit a double to score Bo Bichette to make it 5-4 in the 5th.
Cionel Perez (1.53 ERA) came in with one runner on for the Chaos Kids.
Anthony Bass (1.38 ERA) came in to replace Merryweather in the 5th.
Yusei Kikuchi (5.32 ERA) entered in for Toronto in the 6th. Cedric Mullins hit a single to score Jorge Mateo to make it 6-4 in the 6th. It was his first RBI off a lefty since July.
Bryan Baker (4.15 ERA) came in for the Birds in the 7th.
Teoscar Hernandez hit into a double play, but Bo Bichette scored to make it 6-5 O’s in the 7th. After the third out, the benches cleared with Baker needing to be held back.
Yimi Garcia (2.36 ERA) relieved Kikuchi.
Felix Bautista (1.53 ERA) came in for the Orioles in the 8th to get his first career six-out save.
Trevor Richards (4.28 ERA) came in for the Blue Jays in the 8th.
Anthony Santander walked and Rougned Odor scored in the 8th. Ryan Mountcastle then singled to score Cedric Mullins and Adley Rutschman to make it 9-5. Rutschman was originally called out but review then determined the catcher was blocking the plate.
Tim Mayza (3.05 ERA) came in with 2 runners on and elicited a foul out.
Alejandro Kirk hit a single to score Bo Bichette to make it 9-6 in the 9th, but that would be all.
