The Baltimore Orioles have a much needed day off today as they head to Boston to faceoff against the Red Sox and ready the storm of five games in four days!

A lot can happen in five games, especially when they are played in rapid fire succession. Both the Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles will have to prepare for this game differently, but the outcomes are endless for this five game bump. With that in mind, here are our five “bold” predictions of what could happen over this Memorial Day weekend.

BP #1:

The Baltimore Orioles sweep the BoSox

Wow, right out of the gate with this one, huh? I know, I know but hey, this is a busy weekend and anything can happen. The BoSox are rolling at the moment, but the O’s haven’t been slacking off either. So far in May, the Baltimore Orioles are 11-13 with wins over the Twins, Yankees, Cardinals, and one off the Sox back on the 1st day of May.

The Red Sox, however, are 13-10 and coming off of a 16-run game last night. For the O’s we know for sure that we will get Bradish, Zimmermann, and Wells, but what about the double-header on Saturday? The BoSox will march out there normal battery mates, but with on TBD on Saturday as well. Every hot streak comes to an end, why not at the hands of the O’s? LETS GO!

BP #2:

Adley Rutschman gets his first MLB HR

Have we not been patient enough? To be honest, no, but all signs are pointing to an Adley Rutschman home run soon enough. Adley have gone 5-20 with a few walks and two runs scored. Although his exit velocity isn’t breaking any windows down, he is making solid contact and constantly working on his swing.

Saturday’s double-header seems like the perfect time for the Orioles future to get the big sticks out and launch one over the Green Monster, or that incredibly short porch in right. He collected three homers during his start of the year in the minors, so don’t expect him to start breaking records just yet. However, he is due. Make it happen this weekend!

BP #3:

Chris Owings bat comes alive for a minute

Remember the part where we said this was a bold prediction segment? Don’t leave yet, there is some light to this. He has already doubled his hit total from April. Going from two hits to four might not be a feat, but he is showing that with more time, comes more comfort. With there being five games in four days, expect to see him at least three times. After all, the O’s do need a spark.

BP #4:

Mike Elias shocks us all

There has been a lot of hoopla going on around Mike Elias, the Baltimore Orioles GM, these past few months, and it’s time he finally shows his hands. The O’s have a plethora of minor league talent on the rise, and it’s time to get them up. DL, GRod, and others are chomping at the bit. Don’t be shocked if we see a lot of player movement this weekend, with some favorable outcomes.

BP #5:

Grayson Rodriguez finally gets the call

With the perfect segway from the last prediction to this one, the Baltimore Orioles faithful finally see GRod in the black and orange. Saturday is going to be a busy day for both clubs, and it’s the best time to get the Orioles battery of Rutschman and Rodriguez started in The Show. He has shown he’s ready, which is what Elias wants, so give him the ball and let him hurl it.
