Baltimore Orioles: Paul McCartney Concert Announcement Rumor?
The Baltimore Orioles released a Press Release on Thursday morning in regards to a major announcement.
Baltimore Orioles Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer John Angelos and the City of Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott will be leading the Press conference. Once the Press Release was out in the open, many fans/reporters were wondering what major announcement could the Baltimore Orioles be having.
One of the rumors going around is that Paul McCartney will be having a concert at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. That rumor was reported by 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore during the Inside Access Show with Ken Weinman and Jason La Canfora.
When Billy Joel performed at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in 2019, the Orioles also had a Press conference announcing the concert. It just seems a little interesting that they would need to have a Press conference that includes the City of Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott. Why does he need to be involved?
The only thing that I can think of that would have John Angelos AND Mayor Brandon Scott leading this Press conference would be to announce a new lease agreement between the Orioles and Camden Yards. We’ve heard for years that the Orioles could be moving out of Baltimore due to the current lease being up soon. The original lease was set to expire at the end of 2021 but was extended for another two years, so this one expires on December 31st, 2023.
Whatever this major announcement is has gotten the fanbase to speculate what it could be. Hopefully, this will be good for the Orioles and the fanbase who have been struggling since the winning seasons with Buck Showalter as manager.
What do you think this major announcement could be? Do you think the Paul McCartney rumors are true? Will you go to the concert?
