The Baltimore Orioles look to build upon their offensive outburst this past Sunday with the New York Mets coming to Camden Yards
Looking to build off of their series victory against the Cleveland Indians this weekend, the Baltimore Orioles welcome the New York Mets to Camden Yards for a brief interleague series starting Tuesday evening. The series is the second and final matchup between the Orioles and Mets this season, following what was a two-game series sweep in favor of New York when the teams last met in May.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
HITTER: Ryan Mountcastle (.245, 8 HR, 28 RBI) Mountcastle rolls into this series on fire, batting .421, with 4 Home Runs and 8 RBIs in the past week.
PITCHER: Bruce Zimmermann (3-3, 4.96 ERA) Zimmermann looks to continue to get himself in the win column after his performance against the Twins, as he posted 7 strikeouts with 5 innings pitched.

Projected Starting Pitchers:
BAL: Bruce Zimmermann (3-3, 4.96 ERA)
NYM: David Peterson (1-4, 5.89 ERA)
The Orioles begin this two-game series starting Bruce Zimmermann on the mound. Bruce has been pitching well recently, allowing just three earned runs in his last two starts. He matches up against David Peterson, who comes off of a five-earned-run performance in his last outing. If the O’s can keep their lineup hitting consistently, this could turn out to be a favorable ballgame.
Wednesday, June 9, 2021 @ 7:05pm
Projected Starting Pitchers:
BAL: Matt Harvey (3-6, 6.62 ERA)
NYM: Taijuan Walker (4-2, 2.12 ERA)
The man Mets fans called “The Dark Knight”, Matt Harvey gets the nod in the finale of this short series at Camden Yards. On four days rest in his last start, Harvey posted a solid three innings and only allowed one earned run. As Harvey continues to search for consistency on the hill this season, The Mets will task the Orioles with facing Taijuan Walker, who has been pitching very well as of late. In his last start against the O’s, Walker pitched seven innings, allowing just one earned run. This may be a tough pitching matchup for Baltimore, but if Harvey can keep the earned runs down it may be enough to help this lineup will their way to a win.
