Pitcher Of The Month: John Means

Even after though he missed time with injury in June this award easily goes to John Means.

In four starts Means was dominant as he pitched to a 1.71 ERA in 21 innings pitched. Over those 21 innings, Means struck out 19 batters, allowed only four runs, one home run and earned two wins without taking a loss.

The stellar month locked Means a spot on the American League all-star team.

Means’ is emerging as a pitcher Orioles fans are getting excited about and for a good reason. He’s dominating hitters despite knowing he may not get any run support when he takes the ball.

There’s a chance we’re watching the Orioles ace of the future and every time he takes the ball; there’s motivation to tune in during this lost Orioles season.
