With John Means back from the injured list the Baltimore Orioles rolled to their 23rd victory of the season.

The Baltimore Orioles are back in the win column. Losers of 13 of their last 14 the O’s hoped John Means return from the injured list would finally give them a spark Friday night in the opener of a three-game series with the Cleveland Indians.

Means’ return did that and more as the Orioles finally put together a victory that left fans with no doubt they’d get the job done.

Chance Sisco hit the 99th all-time home run onto Eutaw Street and a two-run double, Hanser Alberto ripped another RBI double, and Anthony Santander crushed a two-run moon shot and also smashed a two run double to headline a night that saw the Orioles plate 13 runs.

As for Means, he did not miss a beat coming off the injured list as he pitched five scoreless innings, recording five strikeouts and allowing just one hit.

The Baltimore bullpen also put together a rare solid performance as Branden Kline, Paul Fry and Miguel Castro combined to throw four innings of scoreless relief to close out a 13-0 Oriole victory.

For the Orioles it was just the third time all season they won a game by eight or more runs and their first since April 23rd when they took down the Chicago White Sox 9-1.

It was also just their second shutout victory of 2019 with the first coming on May 4th against the Tampa Bay Rays.
