The 2019 MLB Futures Game will feature a pair of Baltimore Orioles pitching prospects.

The Baltimore Orioles have bolstered their farm system throughout the course of their current rebuild.

Soon they will be able to showcase two of their top prospects to the baseball world as pitchers DL Hall and Grayson Rodriguez have both been selected to participate in the 2019 MLB’s Future Game in Cleveland, Ohio on July 7th. The event features several of the games most exciting prospects and opens all-star week festivities.

Hall was the Orioles first round selection in the 2017 MLB Draft. He is a 20-year-old left-handed pitcher who is currently pitching for High-A Frederick. With the Keys this season he has posted a 4.25 ERA and has recorded an outstanding 73 strikeouts in just 48.2 innings pitched. He is currently ranked as the Orioles third-ranked prospect by MLB Pipeline and ranks 66th in baseball.

Rodriguez is currently the Orioles top-rated prospect and ranks 53rd in baseball. He will likely drop down the O’s second or third-ranked prospect however when Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson are added to the list.

Nonetheless, Rodriguez has the potential to be a significant factor in the Orioles next winning ball-club. The 6’5 right-hander has posted a 2.21 ERA and is 7-1 in 11 starts for the Low-A Delmarva Shorebirds this season.

Rodriguez was selected 11th overall by the Orioles in the 2018 MLB Draft. At just 19 years old, he seems on track to be another successful first-round pick by Baltimore as many hope for him to be the O’s ace once he reaches the majors.
