Catcher Chance Sisco made the 2018 Baltimore Orioles opening day roster, but was optioned and recalled from the Orioles to the minors several times throughout the season

Now that Buck Showalter isn’t the manager of the Baltimore Orioles, do you think it’s fair to say that Chance Sisco will benefit from the new regime? My thought is that he will benefit from it and that he’ll have consistent at-bats.

How can a player get better each and every day as a major leaguer if they aren’t in the lineup facing major league pitching day in and day out? Showalter favored Caleb Joseph, and it showed until Joseph was sent down to the minors.

It’s fair to say that new manager Brandon Hyde and Sig Mejdal will be preaching analytics and will be working with every player to help build a better player development system in Baltimore. That will help Chance Sisco immensely.

Just look at Sisco’s numbers in 2018; he appeared in just 63 games. How can you get a good read on a top prospect in such a small amount of playing time? Maybe it was good to send him down to the minors to get regular at-bats, but it could also potentially hurt a player’s confidence considering that he made the 25-man roster out of spring training.

Brandon Hyde and his staff, whoever that ends up being, will definitely work with Sisco to make him better. This is what excites me about Brandon Hyde, Mike Elias, and Sig Mejdal. They know talent.

Was it the lack of confidence and playing time that had Chance Sisco struggling in 2018? We will never know, but the good news is that 2019 is a fresh start for him with a new manager that will make very well sure that he will get better and hopefully play almost every day with the Baltimore Orioles.

Who else thinks that Chance Sisco is going to do well under Brandon Hyde?
