The Baltimore Orioles are holding their annual FanFest celebration today at the Baltimore Convention Center.

I suspect that Chris Davis‘ name will be mentioned more than a few times today among fans, as the Baltimore Orioles will hold their annual FanFest today at the Baltimore Convention Center. Tickets can be bought at the door, and admission is $12. If you’ve never been to Orioles’ FanFest, it’s fun for the entire family. There are autographs from players, coaches, and alumni, food, merchandise, giveaways, and much more. The event begins at 11 AM and runs until 6 PM.

And yes folks, I’ll be walking around the convention floor myself! (If my presence sways you just to come to the event I kind of feel badly for you!) Nevertheless, it’s always a fun event. This year however it’s being held

much earlier than normal. In the past they’ve generally had it either on the last Saturday of January or the first Saturday of February.

Lots of folks have wondered why, but does it really matter? I doubt there’s a sinister reason as to why it’s this weekend as opposed to then. I don’t disagree that late January/early February is the perfect time to have FanFest given the fact that people are starting to get stir-crazy. But the fact is that this year it’s being held on December 12th.
