Baltimore Orioles: Birds Watcher, 2015

The Baltimore Orioles unofficially begin the 2015 season tomorrow, with spring training game number one against Detroit. The first home game at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota will be Wednesday at 1 PM. Make no mistake about the fact that this is not the regular season. However we will be talking about real games and Orioles’ baseball from now until October – to say the least.

First off I want to thank all of our great fans for sticking with us over the course of the off season. I’ll be honest; there were days when I was pulling my hair out trying to gauge up a topic! But that’s par for the course in the off season. Onto bigger and better things, such as 2015!

Fans can expect the same coverage as in years past here on Birds Watcher, with daily game recaps and previews from me. This will begin here in spring training, although there will be some games that we won’t recap. Our co-editor Mike Franz will be back to covering the Orioles’ minor leagues come the beginning of the regular season. I was really thankful for that coverage here on Birds Watcher last season, as I felt it added an element that I had long wanted on the site for the course of the regular season.

Our staff writers will also be chiming in with their opinion pieces each week, as has been the case over the course of the off season. Nevertheless, I also want to mention that we’re looking for new staff writers perpetually. Anyone out there who’s interested in penning a weekly Orioles’ article (at a minimum) can apply at: http://fansided.com/fansided-openings/#apply. Be sure to indicate that you want to write for Birds Watcher!

Incidentally, I also welcome any feedback on the site that you might have to give. Feel free to tweet us @BirdsWatcherFS, or visit our Facebook Page. You’re also welcome to tweet at my directly, @DomenicVadala. Here’s to a great season on Birds Watcher!
