Four weeks until Baltimore Orioles FanFest

Let’s face it; Baltimore Orioles fans are still in the midst of the winter doldrums. However on the horizon we’re beginning to see the edges of the aurora in terms of the off season. Exactly four weeks from today, the O’s will hold their first “event” of the 2015 calendar year and season, as we’ll all gather at the Baltimore Convention Center for one of the most beloved annual events of the year: Orioles FanFest.

If you’ve never attended, I sincerely recommend that you check the event out. You’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the likes of Buck Showalter, and quite a few of your favorite Orioles. There are also various question and answer forums with players, coaches, alumni, and even media members. And there’s fun for the entire family, as there are plenty of features for kids such as moon bounces, games, and activities involving the Oriole Bird and even minor league mascots.

For collectors, there’s generally a silent auction, giveaways, merchandise sales, and in most cases single game tickets will go on sale at the exact same time as the event opens. Ultimately FanFest is an event that I highly recommend fans attend, as it really seems to help break up the off season. Obviously the hope is that the Ravens will also do their part by winning three games, which would mean that they’d be playing in the next day’s Super Bowl game – but first thing’s first, they need to win tonight in Pittsburgh!
