Write for Birds Watcher

Baltimore’s 2012 season can without a doubt be considered a success based solely on the team’s first playoff birth in 16 years but despite having their run fall short there is plenty of reason for optimism for this organization moving forward. Now they head into the offseason, hoping to regroup and reload to make another run next season. Birds Watcher is focused on providing quality coverage on all things Orioles related – news, rumors, insight, and analysis – and our goal is to be part of your daily reading, but we need your help so we’re looking for a few qualified individuals to join the BW team.

Think you’ve got what it takes to help cover the Orioles?

Whether you’re a hardcore fan of the Orioles looking for a hobby or someone aspiring to establish a career in sports writing, Birds Watcher is willing to give you a chance. Prior writing/blogging experience isn’t necessarily required (though it doesn’t hurt), all we really ask is that you’re passionate and knowledgeable about the team. We’re searching for individuals comfortable meeting the following expectations:

> Commit to at least one column a week. More is always welcome.

> Help promote and grow the site by engaging our readers through social media (specifically Twitter and Facebook).

We try to cover all aspects of the organization, so there’s always room to bring someone aboard who’d prefer to cover certain aspects of the team – from the minor leagues to stadium promotions and everything in between. We can’t offer any monetary compensation for our Staff Writer position, but there are a number of other non-monetary benefits to joining the FanSided Network and the Birds Watcher team, including some great exposure for your writing and a growing collection of quality writers to work with.

If you are interested in applying or simply interested in learning more, head on over and complete our network’s application. Be sure to let us know what you feel you could bring to the table that would help grow Birds Watcher into one of the best and most complete Orioles sites available. One of our Editorial Directors will be in touch from there.
