Are We Going to Trade the Vets?
By Michael

"Several teams have already inquired about left-handed hitters Aubrey Huff and Luke Scott, an industry executive said Saturday.Huff will probably be moved before the July 31 non-waiver deadline, because he’s in the final year of a contract that pays him $8 million this year. (He doesn’t have a no-trade provision, either.) Scott is a less obvious trade candidate, because he’s not scheduled to be a free agent until after the 2012 season. The Reds, Giants, Tigers and Braves — each of whom would like to add power at one corner position or another — are among the teams that could match up well in trade talks with the OriolesSource: Fox Sports"
I know that a lot of us expect that we’re going trade at least one of our veterans by the trade deadline, but who and where. I honestly never of heard of this guy and question his “source”. A lot of what he says in the article is common knowledge to any of us who follow the team closely, we will start hearing a lot more trade rumors dealing with our vets as the trade deadline approaches.
I believe the player we are shopping most is Huff and his expiring contract. If we don’t move Huff than I believe we will sign him to a short term deal this off-season. Luke, who has been our number one guy on offense has really increased his trade value, although, as a fan favorite and under contract for a few years I don’t see us moving him.
Mora on the other hand will be a difficult guy to move. He has a trade clause and his numbers have been a lot lower so far this season as expected. Another problem that will occur if we move Mora is the depth at 3rd base, Wiggy would have to be our everyday third baseman. With Andino doing good, maybe we can give him or Izturis time at 3rd. Another guy that I expect to be moved soon is Baez. He has been doing good this season so his value went up, and he’s old so he has no place on our team for the future.
