Two Losses In One

I am speechless about all the injuries that are building up this season, especially in the outfield. We are not even halfway through May, and so far Scott, Pie, Montanez, and Jones have been injured. Hopefully Jones isn’t to hurt, and won’t have to go on the DL. Unfortunately, I believe since Jones hammy has been a nagging problem, he is the most likely one to be put on the list so a healthy body can be called up.

Salazar is still the most likely one to be called up if anybody does go onto the DL. If Jones is the one put on the DL, Pie would likely move to center, as Montanez would continue to play in Left, and Salazar likely on the Bench. Reimold has also played in center field in his professional career, and also could replace Jones in center, which is highly unlikely. We also could send up Gathright, who is the most experienced out of everybody to play center field, but would keep our bench weak with Pie.  Anybody else confused yet?

Now my rant on today’s loss to the Rays. I really hate complaining about the management again (especially after most of you disagreed with me) but Trembley made another bad decision at the end of the game. McCrory gave up four runs in the ninth, and walked most of the guys that scored. After the wild pitch, it made no sense that we didn’t have somebody warming up in the bullpen. We had a legit chance to win the game, but some reason Trembley chose to go with the guy who couldn’t get the ball in play. Let me once again reiterate that I love Trembley and believe he is a good coach, and believe his is the best possible style of coach for our team. Alright, I feel better now.

Other than Wigginton, our offense was non existent until the bottom of the 9th. After Roberts two run homer, who else totally did not expect Pie follow it up with a homerun. The homer was Pie’s second of the season, but did not give us a entertaining sprint around the bases. Bergesen pitched a good game until the 6th, when he gave up 2 of his 4 runs.

I’ll keep the blog updated tomorrow if any information comes out on Hill joining the Orioles, and if anybody else from the Tides will be called up. It should be an interesting next couple of days with our pitching rotation and lineup if changes are made.
