The ALCS cannot escape the rain

Games 1 and 2 of the 2014 ALCS were played through intermittent rain showers in Oriole Park at Camden Yards. However, as both teams traveled to Kansas City to play Games 3, 4 and 5, Mother Nature caught up to them and made sure Kauffman Stadium would feel her wrath. If you have not from multiple social media sources, Game 3 has been postponed until tomorrow at 8:00 PM because of heavy rainfall.

When asked about whether the postponement of Game 3 would have any bearing on either teams performance, manager Buck Showalter was very adamant that the only people this storm helps is the local Kansas City restaurants and bars.

Despite being pushed back 24 hours, Wei-Yin Chen will still get the start for the Baltimore Orioles.

Game 4 will now be played on Wednesday at 4:00 PM and Game 5 will be played on Thursday at 4:00 PM if it is necessary. And for the city of Baltimore, it is necessary if they want to see their Birds in the World Series this year.

In his press conference today, Showalter admitted to considering Chris Tillman over Miguel Gonzalez for the start in Game 4, but would not give a definitive answer on that until Game 3 was played out.

The Baltimore Orioles desperately want to show the nation that their dominating performance throughout the regular season this year was no fluke. And they will have their chance in less than 24 hours. Not to beat a dead horse, but this team has faced adversity all season.

People thought their season was done when they lost Matt Wieters due to Tommy John Surgery. Then they though it was over when the ball club lost Manny Machado to knee surgery. Baseball critics even thought the Orioles were going to crumble after getting swept by the Cubs in late-August.

And each time the national media gave them no chance, the Orioles flipped the script and proved why they are a force to be reckoned with this season. I see the same exact thing happening with this series. And it starts tomorrow at 8:00 PM on TBS.
