Each year, FanSided posts a list of the 250 best fanbases in sports and entertainment. This year, the Baltimore Orioles were not included.

Unfortunately for the Baltimore Orioles, several of fanbases in the AL East and NL East were included.

Sadly, this is not a good look for a team that has so much going for it. Orioles fans are the best fans and should appear on this list year after year. Find the full list here.

Who made the list

It is no surprise that the Chicago Cubs had the best fanbase in the MLB. Seats at Wrigley Field regularly sell out. The shops near “The Friendly Confines” are loaded with fan gear at various price points. Homes all around the north side of Chicago proudly Fly the W in their windows and yards. Being a Cubbies fan is a big deal and not just in the Midwest. They were the top team in 2016, too.

The other teams that landed on the list include the AL East Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. In the NL East, the New York Mets and Washington Nationals also made the list. The biggest surprise was the addition of the Cleveland Indians, as fans rarely fill the stadium except for big games or when the team is winning. This is in direct opposition to Cubs fans who fill the seats even when the team isn’t winning.

A few MLB players also made the list. Aaron Judge finished in 250th place. Derek Jeter made the list, although it is safe to say the Marlins fans aren’t too fond of him right now. That was it for the MLB players/celebrities. Shockingly, Giancarlo Stanton and Jose Altuve did not appear on the list.

How to get on the list

More from Site/Network News

The Baltimore Orioles could easily make the list in 2018. In 2017, only 11 teams in the MLB were included. If the Nationals could make it, so can the Orioles as the team has been around significantly longer. The Orioles actually did make the list in 2016, but that year, the team made it to the playoffs. It is important for fans to stick with the team through thick and thin and to fill Camden Yards at every single game.

With the big changes that are on the horizon, it should be exciting to be an O’s fan in the 2018 season. Players and managers will be showing off their skills to land big contracts, which should make the team one of the best it has been in years. It will also be important for O’s fans to show that the other AL East teams will not defeat their spirit.
