Numbers nine and ten include a pitcher to notice

Lance Lynn. This pitcher could be a hit with Orioles fans. His career ERA of 3.38 would make him the immediate ace of the team. He could still accept a qualifying offer from the Cardinals, but according to Derrick Goold with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

"“The Cardinals plan to present only Lynn a qualifying offer of $17.4 million for 2018, and the righthander plans to reject it."

That could open up an opportunity for the Orioles to step in and add a sure thing to their roster. Lynn had Tommy John surgery and missed the entire 2016 season, but came back to start in 33 games with 153 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.43 and a WHIP of 1.229. If the O’s want to contend, he’d be a good pitcher to get, but he might cost upwards of $20 million.

Zack Cozart. He’s a shortstop who can hit, but the Orioles already have one of those in Tim Beckham. It’s highly unlikely that he’ll end up on Duquette’s radar. He could end up with the Reds again, which has proven to be a good place for him.

Next: A few Marlins who would make dangerous O's in 2018

There are so many what-ifs in the MLB off-season and it sure is fun to speculate what could happen in Baltimore. What would be even more fun is to watch the O’s in 2018 with a few more players who could bring the team to the playoffs. The O’s are long overdue for World Series appearance. And, they just so happen to have a little money to spend. Adding a few new faces often pushes the old friends to perform a little better.
