Although Oriole Park has seen countless magical moments, it will see one more this Saturday, November 1st and I am not referring to baseball. Rather it will be the site of the finish line for the 5th annual KidsPeace Trick-or-Trot 5K run/ 1 mile walk.

KidsPeace is a national charity that helps foster kids and families in need. Buck and Angela Showalter, along with the Baltimore Orioles, host the race. All proceeds benefit KidsPeace Foster Care and Community Programs of Maryland and Washington DC—including KEYS (KidsPeace Empowering Youth to Succeed) a program which prepares youth for independence through life-skills training.

The Trick-or-Trot run is not your typical race. Everyone who participates is encouraged to wear a Halloween costume or dress as their favorite Orioles player. In addition, the race course finishes on the field at Camden Yards where you will be met with the Oriole Bird at the finish line.

Need more of a reason to come out to support a great cause?

There will also be pre-race and post-race parties with Buck Showalter, Angela Showalter, the Oriole Bird, Keith Mills from WBAL and Michael J from WPOC. These parties will have costume contests, face painting and great food.

If you are interested in participating, click here to register for the 5K run or the 1 mile walk. Register soon because the first 700 registered runners and walkers will be given a free Under Armour race t-shirt (sizes are available on a first come, first serve basis).

Gift certificates will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Masters as well as age group winners from sponsors like Baltimore Marriott Waterfront and Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company.

Come out to the Yard for for fun, exercise, Buck Showalter and, above all else, a great cause.
