Manny Machado is back in Charm City for Games 1 and 2 of the ALDS. Ever since leaving the Orioles in late August to get season-ending surgery on his knee, the Orioles have missed Machado greatly. And although he will not be able to suit up to help Baltimore square off against Detroit, his presence in the clubhouse will be much appreciated.

When Machado talked to MASN’s Roch Kubatko, he explained how awesome it is to be back with the ball club. “I’m excited to be here,” he said. “I’m as much a part of this team as anyone in here. We’re all taking this moment in. Just helping anybody if they need any help in anything and enjoying the moment like everyone is here.”

After Game 2 on Friday, the Gold Glover will not be traveling with the team to Detroit heeding the advice of his doctor and head back down to Sarasota on Saturday to continue rehab on his knee.

Machado also told MASN that all signs point to him being ready for the start of Spring Training. “I have full range of motion already, and hopefully in a couple weeks I’ll start riding the bike and get that going.”

When Machado limped off the field during that rainy day in August when he suffered the injury, many were worried about Machado’s future in baseball. Luckily though for Baltimore it appears Number 13 will be back for his fourth year in the Majors. And hopefully 2015 will be the year that Machado plays a full season without being cut short by injury.

Baltimore will be glad to see Manny tomorrow in Camden Yards. Hakuna Machado!
