Orioles Tickets 35% Below Average For Series vs Rays

The most disappointing team in the league has easily been the Tampa Bay Rays. At 32-48 they have the worst record in the league, despite looking like one of the favorites to win the AL East this season. While injuries have had a decent amount to do with that, at 12.5 games back it doesn’t look like the Rays will make it back into the playoff race. That’s good news for the Baltimore Orioles who play them in their next series. At this point in the Orioles schedule the team has a 41-36 record to stake them to second in the division, and just two games behind the Toronto Blue Jays. Orioles tickets are averaging $50.31 for the series on the secondary market, down 35 percent from the Orioles season average.

6/27 TB Alex Colome at BAL Kevin Gausman | Avg. Price: $38 | Get-in Price: $18

It’s been a nice turnaround for Kevin Gausman, who struggled a bit in his rookie year. But in four starts this year he has a 3-1 record giving up just a combined two runs in his last three starts over 19 innings. He also has a WHIP of 1.17 that’s inflated by an awful first start he had against the Detroit Tigers. Orioles vs Rays tickets for the game are the cheapest of the series with an average price of $38 and a get-in price at $18.

6/28 TB Jake Odorizzi at BAL Chris Tillman | Avg. Price: $50 | Get-in Price: $18

Saturday’s game doesn’t offer the same pitching quality. Chris Tillman goes for the Orioles and he’s been a decent at best. Granted the Orioles staff hasn’t exactly been lighting the league on fire this year. For the Rays they send Jake Odorizzi to the mound and while his 4.29 ERA isn’t nice to look at, he has a solid FIP and leads the team in strikeouts in his second season in the majors. The average price for the game jumps up to $50, and the get-in price stays at $18.

6/29 TB Erik Bedard at BAL Wei-Yin Chen | Avg. Price: $56.22 | Get-in Price: $19

Wei-Yin Chen has been the Orioles best pitcher this season staking claim to a 7-2 record and a 3.84 ERA. He’s walked the fewest batters on the team, and is second on the team with 89 innings pitched. Erik Bedard starts for the Rays and his numbers have been right around his career average. The average price of the game is $56.22 and the get-in price $19.

6/30 TB Alex Cobb at BAL Miguel Gonzalez | Avg. Price: $57.01 | Get-in Price: $16

The final game of the series is the most expensive with an average of $57.01, but the cheapest get-in price of $16. The game has the Orioles sending their worst pitcher to the mound in Miguel Gonzalez. He has the worst FIP and WAR numbers on the team. Alex Cobb hasn’t been much better for the Rays with a 2-6 record and a 4.10 ERA so far this season.
