Farm Talk: Jason Pridie

This week’s MiLB spotlight is on Triple-A Norfolk Tides Centerfielder Jason Pridie.

In his last ten games, Pridie’s bat has been on fire. In 41 at bats, he has eleven runs, seventeen hits, two homeruns, and seven RBIs. His batting average for this past week was .415.  During this season as a whole, Pridie’s batting average is .327, with eight homeruns and 28 RBIs.

Pridie, from the Phoenix, Arizona area, was drafted out of high school by the Tampa Bay Rays. Pridie has played in the farm system for Tampa Bay, Minnesota, Mets, Athletics, Phillies, and finally Orioles. He recorded his first major league hit while playing for the Mets off Diamondbacks P Barry Enright. He also hit his first major league homerun during his time with the Mets, a three run shot off Armando Gallaraga of the Diamondbacks.

Pridie currently leads the Tides in batting average, is second in runs and third in homeruns.
