Dylan Bundy’s next start will be for Double-A Bowie.
The Orioles’ top prospect is scheduled to make his Bowie Baysox debut Tuesday August 14 in game one of the double header according to manager Orlando Gomez. He will stay in Frederick until Sunday to throw a couple bullpen sessions.
This announcement was official after Bundy met with Gomez, minor league pitching coordinator Rick Peterson, and Keys’ pitching coach Blaine Beatty after the game.
The decision was made after an evaluation of how Bundy had pitched in his last few starts. He finished with a 6-3 mark in 11 starts with the Keys this season.
“They had some meetings talking about the way he was pitching,” Gomez said. “The conversation was that he was going to pitch here tonight and then go to Bowie. I knew like two or three days ago. He’s very excited and encouraged.”
The right-hander has an overall mark of 7-3 in with a 1.92 ERA in 19 starts in his first season in the Orioles organization.
