Welcome to the Off-Season

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s been a long and wild season. Although us poor fans had to endure yet another losing season, we ended on a great September including ripping the souls out of the Red Sox by denying them a chance at the post season when down one and to our last strike in the game. I’m still so excited over that.

We take a great momentum into the long, horrible off-season and we also take a lot of potential.

You may question what I’ll find to blog about every day for 5 months with no Oriole baseball, and I must admit, I’m a bit worried too. But, I’ve been thinking about it for the past few months and already have several ideas of features to run all winter long. I’m going to give a little preview of them here, just so you know to keep coming back and reading every day. Also, if there’s anything you’d like me to cover, feel free to comment or email me and let me know!

1. Roster Review
I will go through each member of the roster and talk about how he improved or got worse, what he did for this team, what’s going on with him, and what he’ll do next year.

2. Free Agent Frenzy
We all know how exciting the Winter Meetings are. When it gets around that time, I’ll start looking at who’s out there, who the Orioles might make a play for, who the Orioles might release or trade, and what I think about it.

3. Orioles A-Z
This was a feature I started a few months ago where I went through the alphabet and looked at a famous Oriole based on the letter starting his last name. I only made it through two: Brady Anderson and Mike Boddicker so now is the perfect time to actually do it.

4. Down on the Farm A-Z
This is basically the same premise as above except it’s with Oriole minor league players. I don’t follow the players much so this gives me a chance to learn about the Orioles’ future as well as you guys.

That’s what I have so far along with a bunch of posts that don’t fall into a specific category. Again, if there’s anything you want to see, let me know!
