Scott Avoids Arbitration

Yes, I’m finally back and better than ever!

The Orioles announced today they’ve reached a one-year deal with Luke Scott to avoid arbitration. Scott is expected to make $4.05 million this upcoming season, which is a $2.4 raise from last season. This does not mean that the O’s have stopped shopping around Luke, as it’s still possible they’ll trade him for relief pitching.

They also made an offer to Guthrie, but it doesn’t look like the two sides are close. Although Guthrie had a down year last season, he’s still due for a raise. It could take a few weeks for the O’s and Guts people to reach a deal, and I’m confident it will get done before it’s too late.
