CLEVELAND (AP)—The Cleveland Indians have traded minor league first baseman Michael Aubrey(notes) to the Baltimore Orioles for a player to be named.
Aubrey was a first-round pick (No. 11 overall) in 2003 but was slowed by injuries during his time with Cleveland. He was batting .292 with five homers and 29 RBIs in 57 games with Triple-A Columbus. The 27-year-old played in 15 games last season for the Indians, batting .200 with two homers.
Aubrey is not all that good as you can tell from his statistics and age. The one thing this trade may do is bring flexibility into the organization if we trade Huff. It will be interesting so see the moves or non-moves that may occur up until the trade deadline. By looks of things and only being June, we will have a productive next few months.
